well, I thought I would actually try and see if Auckland was a beautiful during the day as it was at night. So, I walked from Dan's house to the city, via the Marina (which, as I discovered, is a fancy word for 'boat docking thing').
You can see there are HEAPS of boats ... (that's their harbour bridge in the background!)

All five minutes away from the city ...

Dan then picked me up and we went to check out the heights a bit. It was great ... here's us posing in front of the Ocean. Those islands in the back are actually dormant volcanoes, I'm told (hence the red t shirt, and Dan's red hair) ...

The sun provided an incredible backdrop to the city skyline. Somewhat David and Goliath, if you think about it ...!

Blessings, see you in San Fran!

hey john!
wow auckland is actually really nice looking... except for that IMPOSTER harbour bridge!
anyhow! my mum just found a whole stack of san fran and la maps that we bought in america, and some we got for free through my aunty with the equivalent of nrma over there. so if you want i can mail those over to you or something? hahaha otherwise you'll just have to fork over the equivalent of australian 10 bucks in maps?
sorry i didn't give them to you before you left, we found them, then lost them and then found them. (that's what life is like when you're moved in but still have 39048203984 boxes in random places)
take care. have fun on the flight and reading the yellow book in your not so popular with a thousand friends and extended network moments.
