New Zealand by night: The grand tour

Well, just flew into Auckland this afternoon on a very crowded Air New Zealand flight (cheap seats ... ah). I met up with my mate from McKinsey, Dan, whose place I'm staying at for a few days en route to San Fran.

Dan and his fiance, Jess, took me on a grande night time tour of Auckland ... which was fantastic. The centrepiece of Auckland is Sky Tower, a large blue centrepoint-like thing in the middle of the town. It remained a focal point for my photos throughout the evening ...

1. Sky Tower and extended harbour from the other side of the bay

Auckland has a magnificent inner harbour. One of the great things is the unadulterated view of the CBD from the other side ...

... so beaut, it deserves a panaromic shot! =)

2. Sky Tower from the Marina, on the city outskirts ...

Here is the tower, pictured behind a metropolis of boats - I am informed that Auckland has more boats per head of population than ANY other coastal city ... whoa. When you see the sheer length of the shore line, it's not hard to believe though ...!

3. Sky Tower from Mt Eden, a tall mountain in the middle of the city

Almost Capetown esque, Auckalnd is surrounded by dormant volcanoes, which give magnificient views. Here is Mt Eden, which I am told is "the place where everybody makes out at". Well, not in our car at least! Even though this photo is in sepia (and has a hand rail in the way), the tower shines forth ...

Goodbye, farewell … off onto my next adventure

Hey everyone,

Well, the blog is back! After 2 months of relative inactivity back in Sydney, it’s time to hit the road again. Having given everyone a little more lead time of my leaving date this time, there was some time for some great farewells. Here are my favourites …

1. Farewell with my Club Oasis cell group

At this Korean restaurant, where there were no seats! But great food.

2. A loan bowls party farewell

Here is Cram, going for a bowl …

… and a group shot! Thanks everyone for coming!!!

3. DIGJC leaders hit Chong Hing’s in Kingsford for a $10 feast …

Here is May, Brendan, Steph and Matt ...

... and a group shot! But why do we all look sad?!

4. Farewell at the airport

... It was great to say good bye as Granny and Daddy came along, along with airport work dudes Brendan and Lockie, as pictured below ...

Missing you all already!

Blessings
