So, classes at MBA school is very different to UNSW back home.
Most obvious differences between UNSW and Stanford ...
- Less Asian/Indian students
- Less Asian/Indian faculty
- Better union food at slightly better value (including bible tea and DIY salads!)
- Better English spoken by students
- Better English spoken by faculty
- More food eaten by me
Seriously though ...
At business school, there aren't any "lectures". We have classrooms that seat a maximum of 72 people, and we'll have usually between 30-60 students in a class. We don't sit all facing squrely in front, we have this kind of stadium-amphitheatre-type seating, which is pretty cool ...
The lessons are highly interactive. Rarely are we "lectured", usually 80% of the class is facilitated discussion. Typically we are talking about a case - discussing some kind of past (factual) business scenario, debating what that leader should do and why. To facilitate this, we each have name cards so we (and the professor) can see each other's names (though after a few weeks we all kind of know each other) ...
Basically, it's a really fantastic way to teach, and classes are usually pretty engaging and exciting - we get to know each other pretty well! And I get to talk ... a lot! =)

Bet you love that!
Nice... points to the guy that designed the room..
Does it mean u get to debate alot though aswell? If that's the case, it could turn into a boxing ring or velodrome for arguments... that's scary... 60 opinionated business ppl at each others throats!.. ick!
