Seattle is a 90 minute flight from San Francisco, inbetween there and Canada. Even though for 9 months of the year it's cold and rainy, one of its great redeeming features (So my Seattle friends tell me) is that in summer, it is gorgeous ...
... but for the rest of the year, the only real consolation is that there is snow all around. 45 minutesfrom the nearest snowfields ... with 4 more within 2 hours. Hee is aerial shot - you can see the snowcapped mountains very close!

I spent today with a mate, Bruce, who's the pastor of a church in nearby Bellevue (Where Bill Gates lives). We had lunch, went to the market ...

... then spent the night with a mate from Stanford who's also interviewing with Microsoft here and his friend, sampling the Seattle nightlife! It's, um, nice but quiet ...

when i crossed the border from vancouver into seattle, it started raining. no joke. or as my mum would say i tell you no lie. or something like that. hahaha.
anyhow it is kind of eerie the rain factor there. boeing factory is great... tho i kind of forget that it was there, i thought it was... i don't know. the locations of things like that blur in my mind. disney land i can remember as anaheim :) so that's good. las vegas, is well las vegas, fisherman's wharf is SF, grose mountain is vancouver.
you should really go there, vancouver.. it is absoloutely beautiful. i love it. it is like sydney but with mountains and snow and beautiful beautiful lakes. it makes me so happy even the thought of seeing it again even in my mind. aaah it is just a wonderful place to be.
all the best for microsoft john. remember whatever happens, to trust God and believe for only the best, because if that is what you give him, he will more than give you that. :)
take care.
